This past year, I have enjoyed experimenting with the abstraction of the backgrounds and creating more distance from photo-realism. My extensive collection of family photo albums is the way I remember the past. They are a rich source of material. The paintings interpret my memories and also allow me to comment on contemporary culture from the ripe age of 60+.
